My Family Wellness Protocol

I often get asked what I do to keep myself and my family well, especially during the dreaded "school days" where illness seems to be a weekly visitor. The answer is surprisingly simple and not laden with 1,000 different supplements.

In fact, it is simply food based.

We are so often burdened with an overwhelming amount of nutraceuticals that we can add to our routine, and while those products may be of superior quality, they may not be the best thing for our wellbeing.

The Philosophy

Where on earth would we have ever gotten access to isolated parts from a whole food source of medicine. For example, NAD is a powerful supplement and has helped me out of some tricky health situations, but honestly our bodies would have never been exposed to this type of supplement 100 years ago (and as far back as when we actually arrived on this planet).

But what about our ability to evolve and adapt, you ask?

It takes hundreds of thousands of years for something like that to occur. So again, I make my point that we should focus on food as medicine in its whole form which always superior to a part of a whole, even if that part is really good for us and it is SUPER potent.

Whole Foods for the Win

The first and most important aspect of wellness to me is the food that I consume. This is the simplest way to:

  • reduce chronic inflammation

  • keep our immune system optimal

  • bolster our immune system without supplements

  • stay strong and vital

Some of the foods that I consume on a regular basis I believe attribute to my ability to stay well. This is the simplest way to ensure your family stays well during the sick seasons. Prevention is everything.

These foods are staples in my home on a weekly basis:

  • homemade bone broth (hint: use this to cook rice, to reheat food, as a base of soup, and even in a mug served warm with some sea salt for an instant boost)

  • fresh vegetables — during the growing season this is easy, and usually in the form of sautéed with coconut aminos and a sprinkle of salt

  • homegrown meat products — this is where homesteading enters, but if you don’t have access to land or the ability to raise your own food I strongly suggest connecting with your local butcher to find a farmer who sells pasture raised, antibiotic-free, grass fed meat by the quarter, half, or whole.

  • fermented vegetables — this is a super easy way to avoid yet another supplement (probiotics) and eat something that is truly nutritive and supportive on so many levels.

  • high quality water — we have wonderful well water that is filtered at the source, however if you do not have access to well water from a deep well I always suggest to look into Mountain Valley Water delivery to your home.

  • high quality salt — I always choose Redmond salt for its purity and quality.

These few additions will make a drastic difference in your wellness from a foundational level.

The Holy Grail of Whole Food Supplements

Hear me out. I know what you’re thinking.

YUCK.

Me too. I tried the liquid version (which arguably is much more potent and superior to the soft gels) but I just could not get it down without gagging. Enter: Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil soft gels to save the day.

A little back story, I have an autoimmune condition of my thyroid (it’s called Grave’s disease which is such an awful name, right?). It makes my thyroid go on overdrive and some of my symptoms are heat intolerance, a racing heart, anxiety, insomnia, extreme hair and weight loss and the list goes on and on…

Basically because of my immune system DYSfunction I cannot take traditional immune support supplements like elderberry because it causes my autoimmune condition to worsen.

So most of the things people to do stay well, I simply cannot do.

That’s where cod liver oil comes into play, but is very important to note:

NOT ALL COD LIVER OIL IS CREATED EQUAL

Rosita is the absolute highest quality CLO on the market. Not only are the cod they use individually line caught by tried and tested Norwegian fisherman, they also use an age-old family secret extraction process to remove the oil from the delicate livers without using any heat OR chemical solvents.

On top of that they are a Norwegian company (which has WAY stricter standards than even the EU policies, and 100x more strict than the US) and they are third-party lab tested to quality and purity.

Rosita’s EVCLO Changed the Game for Me

Before starting this supplement I was getting SUPER sick at least once a month.

ALL YEAR ROUND.

I started incorporating Rosita’s EVCLO (extra-virgin cod liver oil) nearly two years ago now and I am so happy to say that I have not been sick in just over a year. It has completely transformed my health without stimulating my autoimmune condition.

I was a paying client LONG before they every sponsored me, however now they are sending me this incredible life-changing product for free in exchange for writing honest and credible posts like these, and I am forever grateful.

If you’re interested in ordering, you can do so through my affiliate link here .

I am so forever grateful for this incredibile product and I know that you will see the same transformational changes in your own health if you decide to give it a try.

Some other health benefits you may notice are:

  • clearer, softer more youthful skin

  • increased vision clarity

  • a boost in your vitamin D levels (I used to supplement with D3 before taking EVCLO and now I don’t have to!)

  • fatty acids can help with high cholesterol

  • reduced inflammation

  • brain health and increased cognition

The list goes on! The reasons to try it are WAY longer than the reasons not to.

FYI: The aftertaste is not bad at all like many traditional fish oils.

If you give it a try please leave me some feedback in the comments below I am so eager to hear about your experience!
